Become a Volunteer at the Maxwell Mansion
Volunteers are an essential part of Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion! Our volunteer docents welcome the public, relate the history of nineteenth-century Philadelphia, and explain the lives of the families who lived here. Our Victorian era antiques reveal the ideas and lives of the people who owned and used them.
Docents lead tours one or more days a week or month, welcoming the public, sharing great stories about an unusual house and an incredible era.
You don’t have to be a professional historian to give tours at Maxwell Mansion! We train our docents, and give readings and materials to inform your tours.
