SUMMARY:Kentucky Derby Party
DESCRIPTION:Mint juleps\, horse racing\, and fancy hats are coming to the gardens of the Mansion! Plans are underway for a Kentucky Derby party on Saturday\, May 7th from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The first Kentucky Derby was held in 1875 and was the brainchild of Merriweather Lewis Clark\, the grandson of the famed William Clark of the Lewis and Clark expedition. The Mansion’s Kentucky Derby party will feature food\, drink\, entertainment\, and—of course—the opportunity to watch the “most exciting two minutes in sports” and cheer for your favorite horse. Prizes will be awarded for striking and innovative headwear\, so it’s time to start planning those eye-catching bonnets and boaters. Mark your calendar\, tell your friends\, and get ready to watch the 147th Run for the Roses amidst the floral beauty of our elegant garden.
